Did you know that it really is true that “beauty starts from within?” By adding seasonal superfoods to your diet, it can do wonders and help keep the skin healthy and glowing.
It’s now the time of the year, when we are with family and friends and we’re surrounded by lots of delicious food. While all of this is good for the soul, too much could be not so good for the skin. Try adding few seasonal goods into your diet to help your skin’s health.
Beets:
This bright red root vegetable which is known for its great cleansing properties is packed with lots of vitamins and minerals that very hard to find in one good. Beets are high in fiber which aids in toxin elimination, is great source of iron, folic acid, manganese, magnesium, potassium and Vitamin A, B & C. Because it is high in antioxidants it helps wrinkles and fine lines and gives healthy glowing skin. It could be eaten raw, boiled, steamed or sautéed.
Sweet Potatoes:
Another skin superfood which is high in beta carotene, it helps protect skin from damage caused by free radicals. It’s a great source of Vitamin A & C which helps fight aging and stimulates collagen and elastin to smooth out wrinkles. The best way to eat is to boil rather than bake.
Pecans:
Pecan trees line the streets of Grapevine and Colleyville, so they are local and accessible. A handful of pecans contains the daily recommendation for daily fiber requirements. Since it’s high in fiber it can help with digestion and aids in elimination of toxins and waste from the body. This improves the appearance of the skin. It’s loaded with zinc, vitamins A & E and omega 3 fatty acids which helps fight aging and promotes glowing skin. It’s great for snacks or added to sweet and savory meals.
